1. Services
Fulcrum Handyman provides residential handyman services across Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Texas, in the categories listed at /services/. We do not perform work that requires specialty trade licensing in Texas (for example: full electrical panel work, full plumbing supply/drain modifications, HVAC system work, roofing tear-offs, or major structural framing). If a job crosses into licensed territory, we will tell you and refer you to an appropriately-licensed contractor.
2. Estimates and pricing
Every job receives a written estimate before work begins. The estimate lists labor, materials, scope, and timing. Once you approve the estimate, the price is firm — the final invoice will match unless scope changes mid-job, and we will obtain your approval before performing work outside the original scope. Verbal price discussions are not estimates; only written estimates are binding.
3. Payment terms
For jobs under $1,500, payment is due on completion. For jobs of $1,500 or more, we typically request a 30% deposit at scheduling with the balance due on completion. Accepted payment methods: credit card (via Stripe), check, or cash. Invoices unpaid after 30 days accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum allowed by Texas law, whichever is lower.
4. Workmanship guarantee
If something we installed or repaired fails within twelve (12) months because of how we did the work, we will return and repair it at no charge. Materials we supplied are covered for the same period. Full terms and exclusions: /guarantee/.
5. Insurance
Fulcrum Handyman carries general liability insurance. A current certificate of insurance is available on request before work begins.
6. Cancellation and rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a visit at no charge with at least 48 hours notice. Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled visit may incur a $150 trip charge to cover the held calendar slot. Force-majeure cancellations (illness, weather, family emergency) are handled case-by-case at our discretion.
7. Property access and safety
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the work area. If conditions on site prevent us from completing the work safely (e.g., aggressive pets, unsafe structural conditions, hazardous materials), we may decline to start or pause the work and reschedule, or we may invoice for time on site to date.
8. Limitation of liability
Fulcrum Handyman's total liability arising from any single job is limited to the total amount paid for that job, except as required by Texas law. We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or special damages (lost income, lost rental revenue, etc.). Nothing in this section limits our liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited under Texas law.
9. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most issues are resolved by talking. If we cannot resolve a dispute directly within 30 days, the parties agree to mediation in Tarrant County, Texas, before any litigation. Texas law governs these terms, and venue for any litigation is the courts of Tarrant County, Texas.
10. Website use
This website is provided "as is." We do our best to keep the information accurate but make no warranty that it is. Pricing on the site reflects typical ranges; the firm number for your job comes from your written estimate.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. The terms in effect at the time of your written estimate govern your job — later changes do not retroactively apply.
