Frequently asked questions about Fulcrum Handyman.
Everything we get asked, in one page. Pricing, scheduling, what's in and out of scope, insurance and guarantee, and the questions we ask back when scope isn't clear. If something here doesn't answer what you need, just call — same crew picks up the phone.
Our standard rate is $115 per hour with a $150 minimum per visit. Larger scopes are usually booked in blocks: a 4-hour block is $420 (effective $105/hr) and an 8-hour block is $760 (effective $95/hr). Every job gets a written estimate before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
The $115/hr rate covers labor, basic supplies (caulk, painter's tape, common screws and anchors, drywall mud, fasteners), tools, and trip time inside Fort Worth and the inner Tarrant County suburbs. Specific materials — paint colors, replacement fixtures, particular door hardware, trim profiles — are listed separately on the estimate at cost.
Yes. For most projects we can provide an estimate over text or email with photos. For larger scopes we schedule a free on-site walkthrough.
For most jobs under $1,500, no deposit — we invoice on completion. For jobs over $1,500 (whole-floor paint, kitchen cabinet refresh, multi-day deck work) we typically take a 30% deposit at scheduling and the balance on completion. The deposit policy is on every estimate that triggers it.
Scope
What we do — and don't do.
Drywall repair, interior and exterior painting, door installation and repair, trim carpentry, TV mounting, ceiling fan installation, deck repair, tile and grout repair, cabinet installation, and general home repair across nine service categories. If you have a punch list, we can handle most of it in one visit.
Yes. Our most-booked service is the Honey-Do List — a single visit that knocks out multiple small projects at once. Batching several small tasks into one trip usually saves on trip charges and gets your whole list done in an afternoon.
Yes, within scope. We handle fixture-level electrical (ceiling fans, light fixtures, outlets, switches) and fixture-level plumbing (faucets, toilets, garbage disposals). For anything beyond fixtures — new circuits, panel work, rerouting supply or drain lines — we refer you to a licensed electrician or plumber.
We don't do roofing tear-offs, HVAC system work, new construction framing, large-scale remodels, mold remediation, or anything requiring a specialty trade license. If your project crosses into those areas, we'll tell you honestly and point you toward the right trade.
Schedule & service area
Where we work and how fast we get there.
Most jobs are scheduled within 3–7 business days. Urgent repairs can often be handled same-week. Call us and we'll tell you honestly when we can be there.
Inside Fort Worth and the inner Tarrant County suburbs, no separate trip fee — it's built into the estimate. For outer suburbs (Mansfield, Burleson, Trophy Club, Azle and similar), there may be a small drive-time line item on the estimate. It's always shown up front so you can see exactly what you're paying for.
Ask. We sometimes go just past the listed cities for repeat clients or when we already have a job nearby. If it's a stretch, we'll be honest and either schedule it on a day we're already in your area or refer you to a handyman who's based closer to you.
Insurance & guarantee
What we stand behind.
Yes. Fulcrum Handyman carries general liability insurance on every job. A current certificate of insurance is available on request before we start any work.
If something we installed or repaired fails within 12 months because of how we did the work, we come back and fix it at no charge. Materials we supplied are covered the same period. Failures from causes outside our work — settling foundations, third-party damage, normal wear — aren't covered. Full terms on the guarantee page.
